Off the ground for the first time? (Actually, this was in January when we raised the Maverick with a fork-lift to determine its center of balance). The Maverick will be back in Florida this month to begin an airborne testing phase. Motivational Tubing (Newton, Kansas) completed the propeller assembly. Their first test was to tie the Maverick to a Ford F250 Truck. The Maverick pulled the truck around their test track at 20 MPH by propeller power!!

Steve explains the Maverick’s mast system during a break between sessions.

Both Steve and Troy flew demonstration flights for the ALTECO delegates.

ALTECO embodies I-Tec’s philosophy of equipping and empowering indigenous churches to reach their own people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. During two different sessions, Steve spoke on the importance of the concept “Business as Ministry,” which focuses on enabling believers to provide needed services (i.e. well digging, making hydro-electric power, or basic medical care) to their own people while they minister the Gospel.

Dear Calvary Chapel,

I want to thank you for your church's contribution of a portable dental chair that was donated for the recent training trip to Nigeria.  I have been on twelve other trips over the years, but this (my first Training Trip) is the first one where I could rest assured that the treatment would continue long after I left, and the chair from your church is one of the reasons why.

There were approximately 16 Nigerian Christians who were trained to remove teeth and fill cavities.  In addition, most of their wives received training in proper equipment sterilization procedures.  Those who were trained had hearts for the Gospel; their passion was to tell others about Jesus Christ, and the very real threat of personal bodily harm didn't slow them up a bit.  Despite the rigor of compacting so much training into less than a week, there was an atmosphere of joy and unity that evidenced the fact that God was at work in His people.  They were extremely grateful for our team, and we felt at least equally privileged to be able to enjoy sweet fellowship with those who had suffered so much for the Kingdom of God.

On behalf of our team and the dental team in Nigeria, please pass along my heartfelt gratitude for your generosity, and please continue to pray for the dental and evangelistic efforts of our Nigerian brothers and sisters in Christ.
