Newsletter For Dec 2007

During November, Mark Stringer went to Newton, KS and picked up the Maverick to transport it to Louisville, KY for the  Global Missions  Health  Conference.

(Steve, above, speaking in a conference session) The annual medical conference, hosted by Southeast Christian Church, was attended by 2,500 health care professionals, Steve Saint was the keynote speaker this year, and spoke in 14 sessions. Steve teamed up with Eli (Ticuna) Catachunga on two occasions, speaking messages on “Empowering the Indigenous Church.”

The Maverick was displayed outside the facility and was used as a prominent illustration promoting our philosophy of putting indigenous people in the driver’s seat. Troy Townsend also attended the conference & demonstrated the Maverick.

During November and December we are testing the (flight) steering systems as the

Maverick is in motion. The controls have to properly steer both the front wheels and the parachute in unison while the vehicle is in motion on the road. There are still numerous tests to do, and each test builds on the success of the previous test.
When one is working with a prototype, time frames and schedules must be approximate. Arlen Weins and his crew at Motivational Tubing (Newton, Kansas) had installed all
the Maverick’s clutch assembly components in October. After performing tests, they determined that they needed a different drive clutch. The new clutch arrived the day before the Maverick needed to leave for Louisville. They tried to put the clutch on the Maverick, but the supplier had sent one with the wrong bore size. Tim Weins had another one overnighted to Motivational Tubing, and he then brought it to us in Louisville. When he attempted to install it, the supplier had sent another wrong sized clutch! This was disappointing, but at least we were able to show the Maverick (static) at the conference. It has to go back to Newton (later in the month) to get a clutch and more tweaking.

The ministry
Steve and Ginny left for a short term mission trip to India on November 26th. They took their work clothes and three I-Tec Portable Dental Systems to a rural destination approximately 300 miles from New Deli. (Five I-Tec Dental Systems were taken in all). Steve and Ginny are assisting Dr. Charlie Vittitow and the M-Power Dental Training team.
??
Troy Townsend picked up two unassembled Zenith 801 airplane kits and brought them back to Florida. Now, we need to crate them up and send them to Gallo and his crew in Ecuador. The 801 is an inexpensive, durable, and dependable airplane. It will supply the Ecuadorian believers with both business and training opportunities.
